Toggle the current tab
The default shortcut is Alt+Shift+B. It toggles processing for the current tab. Check which tab is active first, especially with several windows open.
A shortcut does not replace missing browser access. If Chrome needs activation, deliberately open Sound Boost in the desired tab. This may be needed again after a domain change.
Set a shortcut of your own
- Open Sound Boost and use the shortcut button near the bottom.
- In the browser’s shortcut settings, choose the Sound Boost action.
- Set a combination that does not override a browser or system action you need.
- Test the shortcut on a normal website and check the Power state in the popup.
Check the browser when shortcuts conflict
The operating system, browser and other extensions may use the same combination. If it does not respond, check the assigned action and try another combination. The shortcut does not unlock Plus access. Keep the visible popup controls as an alternative if your system already uses the combination.
A worked example
You want to toggle a quiet recording while reading. Alt+Shift+B is the suggested toggle command. First check on a normal website whether the browser has actually assigned it. Another application may use the same combination. After domain navigation, deliberate activation may be required again. A shortcut expands neither browser activation nor Plus entitlement.

Check the result
If something is wrong
| Observation | Next step |
|---|---|
| Shortcut does nothing | Check assignment and conflicts, then test with the toolbar. |
| Wrong tab affected | Check active tab and browser window before issuing the command. |
| No channel after restart | Start a new deliberate activation; stored settings do not mean automatic capture. |
Common questions
Does the shortcut control all tabs at once?
It applies to the current tab. Check the active tab and its Power state.
Why does it not work on a browser page?
Internal and protected pages have browser restrictions. A different shortcut does not remove them.
