Open the right tab
The extension is built for Chromium browsers and requires at least Chrome 124. Use a normal website that is already playing audio. Internal browser pages and some protected content cannot be captured.
Free volume control does not need an account. Using the slider, a preset or Power starts the audio channel. Check device volume first and begin with a small adjustment.
Start your first channel
- Open the website you want and start its audio or video.
- Click the Sound Boost icon in that tab.
- Adjust the slider or choose a preset. Listen at a moderate device volume to hear the change.
- Turn Power off when you want the original tab audio to play without processing again.
What happens after a restart
No capture starts automatically after a browser restart. A new website domain needs your activation again. A changed colour theme is retained; tab settings apply to the browser session.
A worked example
A video is playing in the browser while a music application also plays on the computer. Deliberately start Sound Boost in the video tab and begin near 100 percent. Only the activated tab is processed. The separate music application is outside this channel. Check the visible connection and listen to the same short passage with and without processing. This verifies the correct tab before applying substantially more gain.

Check the result
If something is wrong
| Observation | Next step |
|---|---|
| Slider has no effect | Check active tab, audible source and channel status before raising it further. |
| Wrong audio becomes louder | Open the correct tab and deliberately activate there. |
| No sound after starting | Turn Power off and check original playback; then inspect source, device and activation separately. |
Common questions
Do I have to sign in?
Not for the free single channel. Accounts and subscriptions belong only to the optional Plus offer, whose sales are currently disabled.
Does Sound Boost control my whole computer?
No. It processes the browser tab you activate, not every sound from your operating system or other programs.
